IoT through MCL offers your business
Critical and secure connectivity Local, global & roaming networks Multiple technologies Intelligent commercials structures Secure APN’s with fixed IP Fully managed and scalable
IoT (the Internet of Things) or M2M (machine to machine) is the critical connection between 'things' (machines which talk to each other) through a special IoT SIM.
Because IoT infrastructure is such a critical part of business, we know that it has to be secure and absolutely safe for your business. Our IoT SIMs use public IP addresses as standard.
Multi-Network
Multi-networks combining Vodafone, O2, EE and 3 on o one SIM card, maximising UK network coverage.
Easy to Manage
SIM Management through our online portal, real-time access to manage your Connections.
Public IP
Our standard issue SIMs having Public IP allowing connection to a server via any host.
Secure
Access to secure private APN's as standard. Highly resilient, meeting the needs of our customers.
At MCL we'll make sure you choose the right IoT connectivity solution, we're the experts so you don't need to be.
With single and multi network capability, national and global roaming alongside managed and unmanaged connectivity we have solutions to fit every business need. Data for your business account is pooled across your IoT SIMs, so you can make sure that your data allowance is maximised across your devices.
Some cases below help to explain how you might use IoT SIM cards:
IoT Tariff rate example
Add static Public IP for £3.00 per month
Minimum 12 month term
£4.00 per month
£7.00 per month
£15.00 per month
Internet connected CCTV cameras use IoT SIM cards to carry data to the cloud.
It has the benefit of allowing users to see in real-time what their cameras are seeing, via online apps.
Use cases include baby monitors, door bells with cameras and security cameras to name a few.
Making a customer journey seamless should be an essential part of your business planning. If it’s easy to transact with your company, and receive the goods and services asked for, then repeat business is natural.
By using IoT solutions you can create one stream from purchase to delivery, your customer can track the movements themselves and receive the best service possible.
Digital signage can make or break a sale.
With IoT SIM solutions you can know when a potential customer is near and advertise to them a product that they may have been searching for.
Personalised shopping experiences make converting to sale more frequent.
Whether you’re monitoring a fleet of lorries, a mobile sales team or just want to look after your own car, vehicle telematics can help you.

IoT can facilitate the security of your premises in more than one way. CCTV to monitor and keep secure your perimeter by using electronic gates.
Monitor the coming and going of employees and any essential deliveries.
From building intruder alarms to fire alarms and alerts, IoT with near instant port to port connectivity make monitoring and security easier.
Smart elevators are quickly becoming the new normal. By combining all the services offered by a lift and pushing it through one controlled interface.
If there are any changes in temperature, weight, motor movement etc, alerts can automatically be sent and assistance will already be on the way before anyone has noticed.

Your questions answered
What is IoT?
IoT is an acronym for the Internet of Things, it’s what we call the collective network of connected devices which are linked to each other and the cloud through technology.
For you and your business it is the SIM card that you use in those devices to keep the connected.
What's the difference between IoT and M2M?
The terms are pretty interchangeable, being specific, Machine to Machine refers to the point-to-point, the actual devices which are connected rather than IoT which refers to the internet extending to machines and devices and vice-versa.
What is the physical difference between an IoT SIM and a regular SIM?
IoT SIMs have a better build quality, they are made of more resistant materials, this is important as these SIMs are used within devices for a long period of time, they can also be exposed to the elements through travel.
What is Multi-Network and why does it matter?
Multi-Network IoT SIMs can roam onto more than one network, so if a signal becomes weak on one network, the SIM will automatically swap to a stronger signal. This means that you will always have the best coverage available. Our multi-network SIMs roam onto all UK major mobile networks, keeping you connected.
Can I retain my current numbers?
IoT SIMs are different from mobile SIMs. If you need to have a device connected then you’ll need a new IoT SIM and a new number to go with it. Transferring between the two isn’t possible.
How do I move my IoT sims over to you?
Unlike with Mobile Phones you can’t get a PAC code and swap to a new supplier. Instead we will issue you with a new SIM and get you connected.
Why are your IoT SIMs cheaper when compared to my current provider?
It’s possible that you’re device is on an older legacy tariff, or it could just be that we come in cheaper. One of the main benefits of moving your IoT SIMs to us is that you’ll have it all under one roof.
Do your SIMs come with static I.P. addresses?
Yes, at MCL our IoT SIMs come with Static I.P. Public and Private addresses depending on your requirements. If you don’t know what you need then we can steer you to the right choice.
How does the data allowance work?
At MCL we suggest for our customers to get a pooled data option on their IoT SIMs. It works hugely in your businesses favour as you can share a data bundle across devices, giving you the best value for money.
